The Llotja de la Seda is a late Valencian Gothic-style civil building in Valencia, Spain. It is a principal tourist attraction in the city.
La Lonja is one of the characteristic buildings of the city, as well as being one of the most famous monuments of civil Gothic that Europe can offer. It enjoys the high distinction of National Artistic Historical Monument since June 4, 1931 and was declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site on December 5, 1996. La Lonja consists of three clearly differentiated bodies and a garden or "orange tree patio". The Columnary Hall or Contracting Hall is divided into three longitudinal and five transverse naves, based on the eight free-standing columns that support the vaults. Its height of 17.40 m transmits a monumental singularity to the columns. The Taula de Canvis was installed in this room, instituted in 1407 by the Municipal Council of the City, which obtained great prestige for its solvency and volume of banking operations.
