Broadway/2nd Ave Nashville: I recommend you get Lyft or Uber car. You can walk from music venue to music venue and there could be drinking involved if you're into that sort of thing. Lol. East Nashille has become a great place to hang out with several eateries, plenty of nightlife, some cool shopping, Historical district etc.

www.NashvilleDowntown.com is the best source for events happening downtown. At the bottom of the home page is a heading called, Join our Mailing List. Their newsletter Downtown Details is full of up-to-date things happening downtown, which you can view without joining their mailing list.

Every first Saturday Nashville hosts an art crawl downtown. There are free shuttles between galleries.
