Get to know this 4.8-km out-and-back trail near Lac des Arcs, Alberta. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 55 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and rock climbing, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. This short hike crosses over a series of bridges through a canyon to a small waterfall at the end. It is a great walk for families of all ages, covering a 3km roundtrip. The trailhead is just east of Canmore near Lac Des Arc; you'll often see cars parked along the highway on the eastbound side of hwy 1 /TransCanada Hwy. More ambitious hikers and scramblers can summit Heart Mountain and enjoy spectacular views of the valley. • Food Pairing: Heart Creek may be the Bow Valley’s most romantic hike, so why not pair it with Sage Bistro. It’s my favourite restaurant in town. Excellent fare with a flare! They also have an incredible wine selection to wind down after a beautiful day in the mountains.
