The only bit of virgin native bush left in Christchurch, Riccarton bush is a definite must-visit for travellers. Saved and closed off by the Deans family in the 1800s, this little piece of native sanctuary will help you imagine Christchurch before colonisation. Riccarton House is a beautiful Historic Home that has been converted in to a cafe/restaurant, and occasionally has markets on Sunday mornings. There is a beautiful native bush area which you can walk through and feel far away from the city :)

Check this place out for the Saturday Market 9am-1pm. Just a 10min up the road.
