Nature reserve/park with lots of walks from easy strolls up the gentle slopes, to a little bit tougher. Pretty park setting for picnics, if you don't feel like exerting yourself.

This is a beautiful area to explore if you are visiting in Wellington. Stunning little spot close to the main road. Lots of small walks up the hills from here. I highly recommend the waterfall track, takes about 10 minutes to get to the very picturesque cascade waterfall.

A beautiful nature recreation area featuring easy walking tracks to a waterfall, a pond with ducks & picnic shelters. Hint for the brave: Take a torch and check out the weta cave :-) Public transport is easy, with a bus stop (stop number 8051) just up the road from the entrance to the park.

An amazing bush reserve just off the motorway. Short easy level bush walks to a waterfall though native NZ bush. Picnic grounds, duck pound and weta cave.
