Its name comes from Alexandria's rich and colorful origins as an important colonial seaport and later, a major brewing center home to the largest brewery in the southern United States. Port City Brewing Company is proud to revive, celebrate, and continue this rich brewing tradition right outside of the Nation's Capital. Port City has five flagships which are always on tap, plus seasonal and unusual one-off brews. Located 2 miles west of Old Town Alexandria, they offer pints, tasting flights, growler fills and brewery tours throughout the week.

"Port City Brewing Company is the oldest packaging brewery in metropolitan Washington, D.C. We offer regular tastings, tours and events at our state-of-the-art artisanal facility." Optimal Wit is my favorite! They don't serve food, but there is a food truck parked outside on the weekends or you can bring your own snacks. Parking can be a little tricky at times.
