Take a walk around Lake Nokomis, have a beach picnic, or rent a paddle board and take to the water. You can also purchase drinks and snacks at the main beach.

Personally I think this is the best lake area in south Minneapolis. It is not a popular as Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun, but that is the best part. There are less crowds and the lake is beautiful to walk around.

Lake Nokomis is the closest lake at only 3 miles away. You can walk or bike around it which is less than 3 miles all the way around. It's a great way to enjoy nature in the middle of the city. The view are great as you can see downtown Minneapolis in the distance. A fun eatery, Sandcastle, is located at the main beach for a bite to eat and drink. They also have lots of rentals to enjoy the water and land.

Great beach to visit in the summer, can rent kayaks, paddleboards and more. Or in the winter they have a pond hockey tournament!
