Address: Located at Plaza de Armas, Habana Vieja. Description: A small neoclassical structure with a bust of Christopher Columbus and three paintings by the French painter Jean-Baptiste Vermay in front of the Palace of the Captains General. The first mass was held here, in the shade of a ceiba -Havana in 1519. There is a "magic" Ceiba tree (silk-cotton tree ) to which specific dates people beseech to ask wishes. Cubans consider certain special powers to this tree :)

The place where Havana was founded, back in 1519. It even has a painting inside that represents that moment, and the painting is an accurate description of the time.

Lugar de la fundación de la ciudad el 16 Nov de 1519. Guarda los frescos alegoricos a ese dia y al dia donde se consagro el lugar. Dentro guarda 3 pinturas murales del periodo colonial de gran valor patrimonia. En un sitio de referencia en toda la ciudad.
