Great alternative spot for the sunrise if you’re not able to get up to Cadillac.

Another classic stop along Park Loop Road, Otter Cliff is a giant 110 foot high granite precipice with one of the most breathtaking views on the East Coast. Be careful not to fall off the ledge as you burst through the spruce trees that cap the precipice. In the summer you’ll see adventurous rock climbers scrambling up the granite and whale pods spouting off the shore. In the fall, giant flocks of ducks gather here in the waves before migrating south for the winter.

This stunning 60 foot sea cliff is the most popular climbing site in Acadia. This is where you want to watch the sunrise. Way better than Cadillac and you will be by yourselves listening to the gentle ebb and flow of the ocean. It is about a 3 minute hike from the parking lot and a magical place. I would highly recommend choosing this spot for sunrise!

If you are into rock climbing, come here and top rope down the cliffs to the water. You might even see an otter or two.
