Stourhead is a childhood favourite of mine, It is a perfect venue for a summer picnic. It is just a 15 minute drive through rolling countryside and is a National Trust Property.

Spend a day at these National Trust gardens with a lake and numerous eccentric follies, statues and secret nooks. Lovely walk up to King Alfred's Tower from here too. The changing autumn leaves in the gardens are stunning.
