Anthracite Coal Mining Museum and Mine Tour. Great place to visit/local favorite. Make sure to dress up :) about 50 degrees year long! Ride a train 1000 feet into the mine, 200 feet below the surface. Not for the claustrophobic types :)

This place is a great amateur museum run by passionate local volunteers. It has an amazing collection of coal mining artifacts. It's housed in a former wash shanty where miners prepared for work and cleaned up afterwards with primitive showers and a place to store their clothing. You can also opt to…
