Headed from Lorne to Apollo bay, on the Great Ocean Road, take time to stop off at Kennet River to enjoy Koala sightseeing. Starting from the cafe, walk up Grey River rd, to the crest of this hill for the opportunity to see Koalas living in the gum trees there. The cafe also sells seeds to feed the local rosella parrot population and will sometimes also feed meat to the kookaburras.

Drop into Kafe Koala and say hi to Lawrence and Damien. Grab the paper (best to order the day before if you want The Age), get some milk, something tasty for lunch, or enjoy a coffee on the verandah out the back.

Some really great food, souvenirs, friendly service. Situated at the bottom of the hill across the Beach, River/Forest Nature Walk and the start of Grey River Rd where you can walk with Koalas and many parrots and other birds.
