The rose garden, the Japnese garden, the Zoo and hiking trails all right in the city.
Only one mile down the hill, and always a lovely place to visit. Sits within the giant Washington Park (Trails, Zoo, Museums, Playgrounds, Japanese Garden).
Smell the Roses during bloom season! Great Photo opportunity of Mt Hood and the city of Portland.
In the right season this is a beautiful place with views of Mt. Hood and thousands of roses.
Beautiful views of the city and mountains from this park (if it’s not too cloudy)

“If you need to rent a car, this place is just a few streets away. There are also a few zipcar locations in the area. Lyft rides are cheap in Portland, too. ”

“The Portland Art Museum was founded in 1892 and is the seventh oldest museum in the country. The museum has become famous around the world because of its permanent collection that has more than 42,000 pieces in it. For history buffs there are plenty of historic art pieces on display. There are many pieces that have been collected from the native people of North America as well as a large collection of English silver. The campus that the museum sits on also has the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art which is well worth taking a look at.”

“While I’ve never been drawn to go in for a tour, the walk up to this mansion is a fun uphill work out, and the views from the lawn of the city and Mt. Hood are beautiful!”

“Good pho noodle soup and delicious Cafe Sua Da (espresso with sweet condense milk on ice), and close by. Don't let the quirky name or uninspiring decor dissuade you, it's a good Vietnamese restaurant run by a nice couple.”
