The Laxey Wheel is the oldest surviving water wheel of it's kind in the world and is an amazing feat of engineering.
The largest working waterwheel in the world. A brilliant example of Victorian engineering she was built in 1854 to pump water from the Laxey mines. A climb to the top is rewarded with panoramic views across the Laxey Valley.
The Worlds largest working water wheel. We're pretty proud of it, you should go look at it. Climb to the top if you're not afraid of heights and the weather is good. If the weather is rubbish and you're afraid of heights don't pay to go in, you get a pretty god view from the gates :-)
