Popeyes got a lot of attention for their chicken sandwich, but I think the chicken sandwich from Open Crumb is the sandwich to beat. Oh and they make their own bread. How cool is that!

Awesome fried chicken sandwiches, bread here is made fresh daily, delicious muffins. Stop in for lunch or dinner (sometimes they open a bit early for breakfast)! This is a great stop to pick up a sandwich before walking to Anacostia Park where you can have a picnic along the river
