We go underground where it is 16°C (60°F for us Yankees) a great way to beat the heat With over 300 km of underground tunnels surrounding Rome, even if you go out there alone, they will not let you go down by yourself, only with a guide to assure you don't get lost and become a permanent resident. With 10 years guiding experience under my belt, I will take you off the beaten path and bring ancient Roman society to life, telling the Stories behind the art and architecture. Showing you the masterpieces that you absolutely have to see before you leave Rome. We first go down to the Basilica that was built at the end of the 4th century AD above the tomb of the two martyrs Nereus and Achilleu. Then we will walk down further to the Best Preserved Catacombs of Rome. I will introduce you to the early Christian community of Imperial Rome, and of Catholicism in the city between the 2nd and 9th centuries. Ending near the Appia Antica where you are free to continue your Adventures. Ti accoglieremo a casa della nonna per imparare la famosa e antica arte del fare la pasta fatta a mano, saremo al massimo 8 partecipanti come in una vera famiglia italiana per rendere tutto più autentico :) Insieme impareremo a fare la pasta fresca, ci eserciteremo a fare ravioli, fettuccine, spaghetti e, perché no, anche altri formati di pasta un po meno comuni. Non ci focalizzeremo solo sulla preparazione delle paste fresche, nella cucina italiana anche i condimenti ricoprono un ruolo fondamentale. Infatti questa esperienza culinaria si focalizza molto anche sulla preparazione delle salse romane o non come Arrabbiata, Amatriciana, Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, Gricia o Burro e Salvia e altre. We have to wait for each one of you for 15 minutes so everyone can attend this experience. We have to get headphones we have to go through security check which is mandatory and and that’s another 15 minutes long until I exchange the voucher on the desk. The pizzeria we will visit dates back to 1824, and you'll get to enjoy their delicious traditional Roman pizza! We'll continue by crossing the "Campo de Fiori" food market to be by famous Navona square. Cycling through the Foro Romano,the heart of Rome, we'll arrive at the Colosseum. Riding down from Aventino Hill, we'll head to Testaccio, one of the least touristic districts. Lunch time! Off sure traditional and roman, at my private kitchen studio. We'll start enjoying the typical italian aperitivo (cheese,salame,prosciutto..) with a glass of prosecco!! Impara a preparare facilmente e con successo la pasta fatta in casa unendoti a noi nella nostra scuola di cucina situata nel centro storico di Roma. Il nostro team di chef professionisti è lieto di incontrarvi e trascorrere una lezione divertente e unica insegnandovi i segreti della produzione di ravioli, fettuccine, spaghetti e tortelli in diverse forme. Ti forniremo tutti gli strumenti necessari tra cui un grembiule, un mattarello, un taglierino per la pasta, le uova e la farina. Dopo la preparazione, cucineremo la pasta insieme ai sughi già preparati. Ogni partecipante preparerà la propria pasta, poi la cucineremo nella stessa pentola per condividerla con il resto del gruppo come una vera famiglia italiana. Questa esperienza durerà circa 3 ore e sarà un'opportunità per socializzare con altri viaggiatori e il tuo host in un'autentica atmosfera italiana. The cooking class menu includes three kind of pasta and different sauces. Milvia will teach you how to make fettuccine, ravioli and tortellini with ragout, or pesto, and butter with parmesan cheese but it can change, depending on the season, the food restrictions of our guests or whatever. As a dessert only fantastic homemade cakes! To make a market tour before cooking you will pay cash an extra charge of 10€ per person. This experience is NOT INCLUDED in the cooking class price and if you are interested please read following lines. For those who like to come early in the morning, we suggest to start ( about 10,00 o'clock) with a market tour in Testaccio - only a 10 minutes walk from our house to one of the most popular and beautiful authentic food market in Rome.

After a welcome drink, you will be welcomed into our kitchen and we will explain all the ingredients that are needed to cook the typical dishes of the Roman tradition: carbonara, amatriciana, cacio e pepe, gricia and cacio-gricia. Then, step by step, we will cook together learning how to use correctly the ingredients and also sharing with you some technical secrets. Each time, you will have the opportunity to consume the dishes that you have cooked in an informal context: that is, outdoors, inside the largest and newest market in the historic district called Garbatella.
