Weekday mornings are Paint Playground at Seattle ReCreative (except in summer). Go visit Teachers Mike and Marva and let your kids make art and play in the playroom. Every day has painting and craft dough, and there's a rotating project at the third station. A great way to have a hand-made souvenir from your trip. Cost is $12. Just a short ride North on the #5 bus.

Volunteer run art supply reuse and art class space-- wide range of very inexpensive craft and art supplies for sale. I dare you to leave empty handed.

GREAT activity with littles. This spot has recycled arts and crafts materials and your kids can go crazy. You pay for what you use no matter how long you stay and it's usually not more than $10... Next door to a good juice bar (Chaco Canyon) and also a quick walk away from a fantastic toy store called "Top Ten Toys"

Find anything and everything to be creative. Everything is from donations and estate sales. Office supplies? You got it. Teeny tiny glass bottle? Yup that too.
