It's nice around here. Lots of walking trails. Ask us if you are interested, there is a nice walk to here down the canal and at the end there are some abandoned buildings that you aren't allowed (but can) go in. We don't advise anyone goes in them but if you do you will really like it and have a great time. Excellent views from the roof. Also, it's not where it says it is on the map - ask us.

Just follow the cycling path at the Karl Heine Kanal and you get to the Lindenauer Hafen. That place is a monument for an unfulfilled dream, Leipzig dreamed for hundreds of years. We are missing the ocean. And we are missing it so much that we started to build a chanal to the Saale, the biggest river near Leipzig, which runs to the ocean. Though, neather the chanel nor the Lindenauer Hafen was ever finished. For 60 years what was supposed to be a harbour never saw a ship. Today one can row small boats via Karl-Heine-Kanal to the Lindenauer Hafen. The dream, though, is still vivid.

Wegen diesem Kanal und dem angrenzenden Hafen und dem Wald dahinter bin ich in diese Wohnung gezogen. Definitiv einen Spaziergang wert.

Die Zukunftsvision ist schon online: In den nächsten Jahren wird sich der Hafen mit neuem Leben füllen, hier entsteht eine Marina. Unternehmen Sie einen Ausflug mit Rad oder Boot zu den imposanten Speicherhäusern und halten Sie am Ufer Ausschau nach Nutrias, den pelzigen Biberratten.
