An off-the-Mall Smithsonian museum across from the White House. Small but well-curated exhibits, usually featuring a large installation in the main hall. *Currently the only Smithsonian museum that does not require advance-reservation timed tickets.
The Renwick Gallery is a small museum located close to the White House. It focuses on American craft and decorative arts from the 19th to the 21st century. Not a huge time commitment and always interesting! *Free Admission*
The Renwick Gallery is one of our favorite galleries in town, steps from the White House. It was open just few years ago into a gorgeous building. You can find art exhibitions from the Burning Man to beautiful modern pieces. Definitely one of my favourites art spaces in the city.
