A hidden gem of a spot in Tasmania! It's a dirt road to the top but well worth the drive. Just remember in winter months you must carry chains when advised (but there is a shuttle as an alternative when in snow season). Avoca is at the bottom of the southern end of the National Park, though the road access is from the North.

Jacob's Ladder - climb it! Or ski the snow fields in winter... Very interesting drive up the mountain; 4WD not required, but careful driving is. Check your rental car agreement about dirt roads.

Ben Lomond rises over 1300m above sea level. Ben Lomond Snow Field is Tasmania's only snowfield which offers some of the facilities expected of a contemporary operation.
