World famous bookstore ... its HUGE! So many areas to explore, you can linger for an entire day looking at books and sipping coffee :)
No trip to Portland is complete without a pilgrimage to Powells City of Books. Powells claims to be the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world, and I can believe it. I used to dream about living here. Powells has new, used, rare, underground, and out-of-print books. They have a…
Famous for it being the largest independent bookstore. Even if you don't like books, you'll find this place amazing. There is a coffee shop on-prem. I love the photography section... one of the best collection of photobooks; but that's just me. You'll find something here for every interest.
Largest bookstore this side of the Mississippi River and a Portland institution in the heart of Downtow’s Pearl District which is filled food, brew pubs and shopping.
A absolute must if you are a book lover! I can easily spend an entire afternoon here!
largest independent new and used bookstore in the United States and is a must-visit for book lovers. Grab a map of the store at the entrance and get lost in the racks
Famous book store with many levels. You can literally find any book possible here. Lots of tourists but also a local favorite. Check it out for sure!
A flagship pilgrimage site for bibliophiles. There are several locations around Portland, but none of them as impressive as the Burnside location. We could spend hours in the aisles of this book store. Such a fun place to visit.

“Hard to have to explain why this place is so special. No better sanctuary on a Portland rainy day. Yes, it is lovely year round but in the late fall, early spring or just after a dusting of snow? It is quiet and ensures connection to all living things.”

“So many wonderful trails to explore. Start with the Lief Erickson trail, and then take a side trail for a more woodsy experience. Dogs need to be on leash - the only downside (at least for us. Many appreciate that!)”
