The small bay at Steephill Cove has been described as one of the Isle of Wight’s hidden treasures due to its exceptionally pretty beach, the abundance of crabs and lobsters waiting to be caught, and its secluded location. Entry to the beach is via pathways only, yet its reduced accessibility adds to its air of mystery. The two routes are via the coast path through Ventnor or down through the Ventnor Botanical Gardens.

An absolute must if meeting up with friends for an afternoon drink or as a pit stop if walking along the beach from Sandown to shanklin

Steephill Cove is fantastic! No car access just a small beach with a cafe.

On the 'revetmente' at the farthest extreme of Sandown, towards Lake and Shanklin, this Mediterranean inspired cafe/bar is the place to go to try something a little more creative than the usual fare of fish and chips (as lovely though that most certainly is). Beach boxes with fresh sardines, mackeral, prawns and smoked salmon as well as a good vegetarian selection are an example of what's on offer, along with great coffee and San Miguel on tap - and their Sky Bar is a great place to hang out as the sun passes the yard arm on Summer evenings!
