Mount Gibralfaro, Spanish: Monte Gibralfaro, is a hill located in Málaga in southeast Spain. It is a 130 m high foothill of the Montes de Málaga, part of the Cordillera Penibética. At the top of the hill stands the Castle of Gibralfaro overlooking Málaga city and the Mediterranean Sea.

Gorgeous place. Spectacular views. A must see! This Castle, built in the 14th century to house the troops and protect the Alcazaba, is today one of the most visited moments in Malaga where you can tour its walls with impressive views of Malaga, or enter its Interpretation Center to see his story. It receives its name from a lighthouse that was on its summit (Jabal-Faruk, mount of the lighthouse). Although it was used by the Phoenicians and Romans, it would be the Nasrid king Yusuf I in 1340 who would turn this settlement into a fortress.
