You can get to Rotterdam in 1hr by high speed train. The regular train will get you there in two hours. Rotterdam has a lot of works by renowned architects. They are clustered in the city center and at Wilhelminaplein (metro station). The Depot Boijmans van Beuningen is the latest addition to the collection of modernist building and home to a full museum collection that you can interact with. So not just the exhibited art, also the stored art. De Markthal is Rotterdams answer to the covered food markets of Spain and France. For a nice lunch head to either the SS Rotterdam, a decommissioned cruise ship, or Hotel New York, an upscale hotel with a large waterfront terrace. Make sure to take a trip on the water taxi, or a tour to enormous seaport with the Spido cruisers. For dinner, I can recommend: Ayla, Vegan Junkfood Bar, aloha, old scuola, Restaurant de Jong and Mevrouw Meijer.

Rotterdam is a major port city in the Dutch province of South Holland. The Maritime Museum's vintage ships and exhibits trace the city's seafaring history. The 17th-century Delfshaven neighborhood is home to canalside shopping and Pilgrim Fathers Church, where pilgrims worshiped before sailing to America. After being almost completely reconstructed following WWII, the city is now known for bold, modern architecture. The iconic yellow Cube Houses rest on concrete pylons near Oude Haven, an old harbor that's now popular for dining and nightlife. The Markthal is a covered food market with a striking design. Nearby, the cable Erasmus Bridge connects the city's northern and southern halves. Rotterdam's many museums include the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, which showcases Dutch and European masterpieces. Rotterdam Zoo is home to an oceanarium and playground. Overlooking the city is Euromast, a futuristic tower with a restaurant and observation deck.
