Garmisch-Partenkirchen is about 10 Km from Zum Schmied. This town is one of the most popular tourist attraction in South Germany. There are a lot of nature destination for skiing, hiking, biking etc or you can visit Zugspitze from this town.

The Bavarian Alps are only 1 hour away. Everything happens here. Walking, climbing, hiking or just wandering through villages such as Oberammergau, Ettal and Garmisch Partenkirchen and, of course, you have the option of all the other sports in the winter: I.e. skiing , skating on the approved lakes etc. Garmisch is great for shopping as well.
