People often skip this one because it's slightly out of the way but it's nice.

Visiting the memorials at night is a special experience and often less crowded.

This is in the heart of the famous Japanese Cherry Blossoms, if you're lucky enough to be visiting D.C. during the 10 days these pink trees are blooming every March. Otherwise, this monument is tied with the Lincoln Memorial with having the best view, where pairs of people are able to rent…

It's a touring staple of everyone who visits Washington, DC. You can also rent paddle boats and ride along the tidal basin.

“5 min walk from here! Sunrises over the Capitol are really cool. I go there often to get inspired. ”

“(4.5 miles) We have probably spent more hours here than any other place in DC. There is something for everyone including hands-on demonstrations, 3-D IMAX movies ( these cost), and a McDonalds that sometimes has aircraft from the museum in their Happy Meals. Even if you’re an adult, it may be worth it to order a couple of Happy Meals.”

“You can tour the White House, the iconic home of America’s president, by scheduling a visit in advance. Even if you are unable to schedule a visit, walk around to the back to get a closer view of the building.”

“I occasionally go here at night, sit on the steps, and just observe the reflection pool along with the Washington Monument in the night sky. I honestly think the experience is better at night. There’s usually college aged adults and small groups of tourists around even at 1am. ”
