Coed y Dinas Bird hide is within walking distance of the Stable (20 mins) along the canal and A483. We’ve seen kingfishers and grebes there. You can pop into Charlies (Coed y Dinas) for a cup of tea afterwards.

A lovely nature reserve with a hide overlooking the lake. Great for wildlife photography and kids.
