Let's talk about the garden first. The pavilion was built as an addition to the Japanese Friendship Garden which has become very popular with local and international visitors. The pavilion and garden are ranked as #4 on the most popular things to do in Idaho Falls by Trip Adviser. The Friendship Garden is part of the Idaho Falls Greenbelt which is ranked #1. Visit there and you get both! The pavilion and garden are in a public park that is open year around, 24/7. On rare occasions the entire island is rented for a wedding and closed to the public. Most weddings allow the public to stroll quietly through the garden.

In Sportsman Park Located on an Island on the Snake River just South of the Broadway Bridge. - The Friendship Garden contains a traditional Japanese garden gate, many water features, a viewing platform, a deck, a "Dragon's Path" across a pond and the large Japanese lantern given to the city by Tokai-Mura.
This is a nice little place to visit, just across the bridge from the Riverwalk. This is representative of our sister city in Japan, and has been built solely by volunteers in Idaho Falls.
