Portorož is a Slovenian Adriatic seaside resort and spa town located in the Municipality of Piran in southwestern Slovenia. Its modern development began in the late 19th century with the vogue for the first health resorts. In the early 20th century Portorož became one of the grandest seaside resorts in the Adriatic, along with Abbazia, Lido and Grado, then as part of the Austrian Littoral.[2] It is now one of Slovenia's major tourist areas.[3] Located in the centre is the Palace Hotel, once one of the most important resorts for the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, and currently one of the finest hotels between Venice and Dubrovnik.

The cosmopolitan Portorož invites you with its promenade and the broad selection of hotels, thermal parks, restaurants and casinos. Especially interesting is the Kempinski Palace Hotel, which opened its doors in 1910. We also recommend a visit to the former Monfort salt warehouse, which today serves as a showroom and gallery. Those interested in culture will marvel at the sight of the Forma viva outdoor collection of stone statues. During a walk from Piran to Portorož, you can also admire the Grand Hotel Bernardin, where we recommend you to stop by the Monastery and Church of St. Bernardin, which was built in the 15th century.
