Beautiful trail that winds down a ridge and has views of the Pacific ocean. Good for banana slug spotting! Get here early in the morning as the parking lot is small.

Trials through the redwood trees are immediately South of the town of Half Moon Bay. We recommend Burleigh Murray Ranch and especially the Purissima Creek Redwood Preserve. Both are pretty easy walks. To get there, drive South on Highway 1. After the traffic light at Poplar Street and then the half moon sculpture (on the left, where Main Street joins Highway 1) Higgins Canyon Road is on your left. Part way up Higgins Canyon Road you will see the access road for parking and the walk into Burleigh Murray Ranch. The trail is an old road that leads to a 100-year-old dairy barn. For a big redwood forest experience, go to the end of Higgins Canyon road to the amazing Purissima Creek Redwood Preserve. Parking is scarce, so go early. This lovely old fire road follows Purissima Creek through beautiful old redwoods.
