The main city centre is easily accessible walk or cycle along the pretty Water of Leith Walkway, this is a pretty 1 hour walk or 20 minute cycle to the centre of town, passing parks and trendy Stockbridge. Alternatively there is a bus stop near the flat or the taxi number below.

Nice little walk, off the beaten path that takes you right in to town in an hour

You can walk from port to city centre feeling that you are outdoors. Difficult to believe that you can walk by the river , mostly surrounded by trees thought the middle of the city

I believe there is a taxi rank on the bridge, just outside The Granary (on the bridge)

Not quite a hiking trail more of a walk by the river away from the roads, goes from Leith docks & the Shore all the way to Balerno, about 16 miles. Passes close by the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Modern Art Galleries.
