Pathum Thani literally means the city of lotus. It has been known as a popular habitat of lotus for centuries. In its Thanyaburi district, hundreds of lotus flowers and water lilies reveal their serene beauty and sweet scents at Thailand’s first lotus museum. Established by Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi in 2000, this outdoor museum is not only a tourist attraction, but also part of a Royally-initiated plant genetics conservation project. It is very convenient to go there and transportation cost by taxi/cab is only 260 Thai Baht.
