Fishing: Island Park offers world class fishing (salmon and trout). You will need a fishing license if over 12 years old. Check at the Phillips gas station on Hwy 20 before you turn onto Kilgore Yale Road. Stoddard Pond is about 2 miles from the cabin, at the junction of Kilgore Yale road and Old Kilgore Road. This pond is stocked with trout and is only for children under 12 years old. No fishing license needed. It’s a great place to learn to fish as well as explore frogs, insects and other pond creatures. You can check with local merchants for fishing rods and tackle.
