A visual history of American Signage from 1870 through 1970. Hand carved wooden signs, gold leaf, electric light bulbs, and neon adorn the walls.
This place is so fun! It’s neat to see all of the signs but also learn about the history behind them as well.
DescriptionThe American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio, preserves, archives, and displays a collection of signs. The museum also displays the equipment utilized in the design and manufacture of signs. Tod Swormstedt began working on the museum in 1999. It opened to the public in 2005.
The American Sign Museum in Newport, KY is a unique place that holds the record as the largest public museum dedicated to signs in the United States! Covering more than 100 years of American sign history in 20,000 square feet of indoor space. Visit Carabello Coffee in Newport after your visit!
