Our beautiful park where the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior remains. A nice place to go to pay your respects and to sit in the sun and listen to our Tuis fly between the Pohutukawa trees.

Pukeahu National War Memorial Park is on a site of significance to Taranaki Whānui iwi who were imprisoned here illegally during the 1860s land wars, and were made to chop down the mountain, Pukeahu, that was once here to turn into bricks to build a bigger prison, army buildings and buildings…
