This is the finest example among the several hundred dolmen in the region. Good picnic area. From the orientation it is likely the sun entered the chamber at the winter solstice. However, as it is now contained in a pine grove this phenomenon is presumably no longer possible.

On a Sunday afternoon, make your way up the narrow road above Siran. Enter the church, admire the fragments of the mosaic from a Roman Villa, light a candle. Leave. Admire the dramatic view and try to imagine the boisterous fairs that took place on this spot in centuries gone by.

Originally sacred to Artemis and now, Mary, in the old tradition of such water sources being associated with healing etc. Picnic area shaded by nine mature plane trees. Interesting for rock climbers but a stroll up into the gorge is interesting enough.

Originally sacred to Artemis and now, Mary, in the old tradition of such water sources being associated with healing etc. Picnic area shaded by nine mature plane trees. Interesting for rock climbers but a stroll up into the gorge is interesting enough.
This is the favourite destination of people in the area when they want to visit the beach. It's about a thirty minute drive.

This 8th century abbey is continually evolving and is not only a wonder in itself but houses art exhibitions and stages concerts. Caune is home to world famous quarries of red marble and is copious adorned with marble sculptures.

A twelfth century church with a unique heptagonal shape which shows influences from the Levant. Of especial interest it is the only complete building attributed to the famous sculptor, Le maître de Cabestany, and contains several of his signature works.

Turn expectantly as someone hails you from the winery asking 'degustation'? Try a glass or two, purchase a bottle or two and with due ceremony drive back out the avenue.
