One of the most clever things you can do on a sunny day in Wrocław is prepare a picnic, head here, and rent yourself a kayak (single-person 15zł/hr, 3-person family kayak 19zł/hr), rowing boat (25zł/hr) or motorboat (80zł/hr). They also operate four water trams through the tiny canals of the Old Town. These run from 12:00 - 20:00 weekdays and 10:00 - 20:00 weekends between Zatoka Gondoli (C-3), Wyspa Słodowa (B/C-2) and the Zoo (I-5), leaving whenever clients are found; tickets cost 15zł for 30min trips, 25zł for 55min trips. http://www.gondole.eu/

The newest location on Wro's cultural map is a 1893 neo-Gothic water tank turned high-tech multimedia museum dedicated - most appropriately - to the very stuff it used to hold. Divided into eight thematic parts and started off with a short 360-degree film which takes you from the Big Bang to nucleosynthesis to the formation of planets to the origin of Earth's aqua, Hydropolis is a friendly-for-all-ages discovery zone where visitors can peek at creatures found in a drop of water, spin an Archimedes' screw, sit in a replica of the Trieste bathyscaphe, which made a descent to the bottom of the Mariana Trench in 1960, or kick back in the sea-sounds-and-bioluminescent-jellyfish relaxation space. Informative and impressively designed, this is one experience we wholeheartedly recommend. To get here, take tram number 3 from Rynek or Galeria Dominikańska to pl. Zgody, then backtrack a bit and turn right on ul. Szybka; you'll cross a small bridge before hitting ul. Na Grobli, at which point the museum will be on your right. Opening hours are subject to change, so check their website before you go.

Located in the Maslice district just north-west of the city centre, Wrocław’s impressive stadium was built before the Euro 2012 football championships and immediately hailed as an aesthetic and engineering marvel (as far as sports arenas go). Designed by the Polish wing of Germany’s JSK Architekten, the working title of the 729 million złoty (about 164 million Euro) project was ‘Stadium-Lantern’ for its highly-recognisable shape and the visual effect created by its unique and innovative semi-transparent façade. Covered in Teflon-coated glass-fibre mesh, light is actually able to pass through the external walls, the colour of which can be changed using a specially designed and highly sophisticated lighting system. The design also includes an outdoor promenade around the stadium, complete with benches to complete the city-park effect, and easy approaches from both the north and south. Today the stadium is home to local (and rather successful) side Śląsk Wrocław, is transformed into an ice rink in winter, and plays host to the occasional colossal concert event. With 42,771 seats, all of them covered, the stadium also carries 36 catering points, VIP boxes, a fitness and wellness club, office spaces and conference facilities, making it one of the most modern and multifunctional structures in Lower Silesia. Making its debut to the world during the internationally televised World Heavyweight boxing fight between Ukrainian title holder Vitali Klitschko and Polish challenger Tomasz Adamek on September 10th, 2011 (Klitschko successfully defended his title, of course), the stadium has already become a highly-recognisable part of the Wrocław’s landscape. When there's no event, you can visit daily from 10:00 - 18:00, but access is limited; full tours of the complex can be arranged by phone. Get there easily via trams 10 and 20.

Wroclaw is called “the city of bridges” and that’s a pretty good description as there are 117 bridges and footbridges. It is hard to sightsee them all but if you follow them you can explore some very nice and interesting places. You might try to count them or just to go across them all but the legend says no-one has ever succeeded in that. That does mean that you might have the chance to be the first one!

Wroclaw’s City Hall is a very interesting place. In its tower it hides the oldest clock bell – unfortunately not available to visitors. But! In the underground of the City Hall there is the famous Swidnicka Basement, which is considered to be the oldest restaurant in Europe. You will certainly find its unique decor and design interesting.

The oldest, historic part of Wroclaw, located by the river Odra. We recommend it both to those in love and those single. But make sure to take your camera with you since it is a perfect place for taking photos. You can feel there the romantic soul of Wroclaw.

It was founded in 2000 and created by combining three separate institutions, namely, the Archeological Museum, the Historical Museum and the Old Jewish Cemetery. They all, apart from the last one, are located in the centre of the town. For the lovers of castles and palaces, we definitely recommend visiting the Royal Palace.

It is the main Jewish synagogue in Wroclaw, built in a classical style with roman elements. The synagogue is also the centre of Jewish culture, where many exhibitions, concerts, workshops and meetings are held. The atmosphere there is quite amazing so I recommend it to those looking for something unusual.

The Centennial Hall (German: Jahrhunderthalle, Polish: Hala Stulecia) is a historic building in Wrocław, Poland. It was constructed according to the plans of architect Max Berg in 1911–1913, when the city was part of the German Empire. Max Berg designed Centennial Hall to serve as a multifunctional structure to host "exhibitions, concerts, theatrical and opera performances, and sporting events. The building and surroundings is frequently visited by tourists and the local populace. It lies close to other popular tourist attractions, such as the Wrocław Zoo, the Japanese Garden, and the Pergola with its Multimedia Fountain. As an early landmark of reinforced concrete architecture, the building became one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii), as designated April 20, 2005, together with the Four Domes Pavilion, the Pergola, and the Iglica. Its listing is maintained by the National Heritage Board of Poland. It was also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.

The castle is 70km from Wrocław in Wałbrzych, just past Świdnica. Direct trains run from Wrocław, as well as local trains from Świdnica to Wałbrzych, and you need to take bus No. 8 (towards Książ) from there. The bus stops at the castle gates in the morning and evenings, and about 250 metres away during the day. http://www.ksiaz.walbrzych.pl/
