Awesome low key and not at all pretentious craft beer bar just a couple of blocks away from the department. Not touristic at all. They make the beer on the cellar, and have recently updated their menu which has lots of picadas, hamburgers, pizzas, and vegetarian options that are excellent. I would recommend the Belgium one.

Nice club where there's usually interesting things happening musicwise. It's located in a very connected area of Palermo where most of the big clubs are. So if you are not into it yo can simply head to Niceto that's just around the corner.

Parrilla with a bit of glamour, like usual in this city the meat is delicious and the service here is great too. Not too fancy, just the right amount. And very near the department.

Delightful restaurant great for a chill lunch with home made bread, owned by two sisters that are always behind the counter, you'll be greeted by their father with a smile. Very affordable especially for lunch on weekdays, their Tartas are the best!

Big and beautiful museum that constantly has new expositions. It's perfect to spend the morning and then go walk along Av del Libertador or head around the corner to Av Figueroa Alcorta where the UBA Law School.

Lovely museum, the building in itself is stunning and they always have great expositions, not to mention the steady one that's impressive on it's own. You can have lunch in their restaurante though it won't be a very cheap one. They have discounts for students if you show an ID.

You really need to go here, if it's not for the pieces they show just to see the building and have a coffee on the bar Croque Madame. Later you can simply stroll around along Av del Libertador Av or get lost in the huge park that's just crossing the street.

Please go here, it's just breathtaking. If you can plan in advance try to go to a concert, opera, or any other show that's on during your stay. Madame butterfly was amazing.

This is my dearest park, very peaceful on weekdays with perhaps a few students here and there depending on the time. Great if you like birds, very near the department. If you go on a weekday ask around where the Jardin Botanico is for a bit of peace and quiet, you won't regret it. On weekdays there's more people but it's still lovely and once a month during the weekend there's a feria where you can have lunch, buy organic food and clothes, honey, soups and deodorants made with natural ingredients, etc.

Chinatown, there's not much to say. Just go and get crazy with their trillion stands which are the same but always just a tiny bit different. Be aware where you eat, follow your gut and trust that where people abound that's probably the best option, or just go to the fancy supermarket and buy a sushi roll on the go. And last but not least don't forget to try the icecreams melona, any taste will work but the classic never fails, they are sold in every supermarket or food stand.

The ABC of tourism in Buenos Aires would start here, ain't that big deal if you live here but it wouldn't hurt you to take a picture over there. I recommend going on a weekend cos during the week there's many moody people walking around. Working in downtown sucks you know?
On the other hand if you go on a weekday you'll probably be able to get in to The Congreso for a little tour and just walk around downtown which is quite lovely if you just keep looking up.
