Iconic Asheville spot. Huge biscuits and a "Butter & Jam Bar" with handmade butters (like maple bacon, blueberry, etc) and jams (Berry Bomb, Monkey, and tons more). Plus a few honeys, like Sriracha Honey (the best).
Open at 7am and no lines during the week. Weekends, get there early!

Possibly Asheville's best coffee spot. They make their own syrups for lattes, and they're not too sweet!

Short of getting fancy high-end pizza, this is as good as pizza gets around here.
You can get it by the (large!) slice, so, order one and bring it back to the suite for some Netflix & Chill after a busy day. :)

Parks & Nature
Arguably the best park for families with young kids in the region. Small enough to keep an eye on everyone, several play structures, and a knee-deep river that runs through.
Some tree cover here and there even makes it run in a light rain.

Just a 0.6mi hike that is doable, but definitely steep at the top.
That said, all ages can do it. Awesome awesome views at the top.
The whole hike is lovely amidst a fairly dense forest just off the Montreat campus.
Up and down in 1-2 hours. Best bang for your hiking buck.

We see people aged 25-65 there regularly.
We both have bad knees, and swear by this. It's a core- and leg-heavy workout.
In, out, feel great all day with a very unique fitness experience. Then go eat your heart out.
Book ahead... only 10 people per class since they only have so many machines.
