The ancient forest is extremely beautiful! The forest is so old is literally eating itself. It boasts the 3 pools swimming hole, one of the most popular (and deserving so), spots in Oregon as well as the Opal Pool (just as awesome). About an hour and a half drive from Portland, seems like nothing. You can camp, hike to Jawbone Flats, the abandoned mining town or just relax in its ancient beauty.
