I have liked everything I have ever ordered at Beans-n-Cream. Offering breakfast, lunch, and specialty coffees in a refurbished old-time bank. Bike parking available.

Colonial Pizza has been a mainstay in Cedarville for decades. They offer pizza (of course), Italian dishes, enzonis, subs, salads, and a yummy appetizer menu. My personal favorite is the Greek Gyro Sandwich, extra meat. Outdoor seating available.

Lola's is new to town, but it has become quite popular. The town banded together during the pandemic to preserve our local eateries, and we frequented Lola's quite a bit. So much to love on their menu. They aim to please!

Mom & Dad's has been going strong since 1990. They have an extensive menu, and delivery is available after 5pm. My husband's favorite is the pork loin sandwich. Don't forget to order a tornado! Walk up, drive through, parking, outdoor seating. There's a lot going on on their small lot.

Yum. I can't go in and get just one cookie -- ever. Seasonally decorated sugar cookies are a favorite, but anything with lots of chocolate always hits the spot.

This is where the Shell station is at the north end of town, but I'm categorizing it as food because their deli at the back of the store is ah-mazing. Their meatball sub is generous with a toasted roll and ample fillings. You can also pick up some groceries or -- seasonally -- firewood and pumpkins. They also have a Schuler's Donut display for when you need a worth-your-while sugar rush.

A 13-minute drive to Yellow Springs is worth it not just for the country drive (take Bridge Street route, not Rt 72). Sunrise Cafe is a family favorite. One of our daughter's got engaged on their back patio! Since going plant-based, my delicious go-to is the Vegan Fill-up accompanied by a don't-miss-it pancake. Check the mask policy in Yellow Springs before you venture there. as of August 2022, no masks were required, but they march to the sound of their own drummer in that town, and things could change quickly.

Our new pharmacy used to be our beloved hardware store, and I miss it so much! Hardwood floors (worn down over the years, no varnish left -- yes!), you buy anything from bolts to canning supplies. We have wished many times during our renovation of our Airbnb that they were still in business. But the pharmacy is also welcome and saves us trips into the nearest town. They have been so helpful and supportive of the community during the pandemic.

This place is magical. Acres of antiques without feeling like you're actually crawling around in someone's musty attic. We found the children's toy cabinet in the photo at Heart of Ohio. They have a snack/lunch bar and "lockers" where you can stash your finds so you can continue to shop without carrying everything with you.

City/town information

At the crossroads of Rt. 72 and Rt. 42, Cedarville is a quaint village with two traffic lights to its name -- three during the school year. We have a variety of churches and plenty of places to eat or grab a coffee. The park has recently been updated with new playground equipment, and it has a shelter area. The bike path crosses Main Street at the south end of town. Cedarville is home to Cedar Cliff Local Schools and the CHS Indians (my husband coaches two sports) and Cedarville University. The population more than doubles when the students return each fall.

Clifton Mill in Clifton, OH -- just up the road on Rt. 72 -- is famous for its Christmas lights. It is an historic site with a vintage mill, covered bridge, '40s-era gas station, and casual American eatery open until 4pm. As of August '22, there is some construction at the bridge by the mill, so I do not know what kind of access exists.

Our local, ancient opera house located in the center of The 'Ville. Business has been a bit slow because of the pandemic. Watch their outdoor sign for upcoming events or see the COH Society's web page. We've enjoyed seeing and participating in many shows and plays there over the years.

The south end of Springfield is 16 minutes north on Rt. 72. You'll find plenty of places to eat: Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, Panda, all the fast food, El Toro (YES!!), Cassano's Pizza, and Schuler's Bakery. There is a large shopping area north on Rt 68 at the exit for Highway 41.
