If you're into bonsai definitely go here! They have a fantastic exhibit! This place was designed by the famous architect Frederick Law Olmstead who also designed Biltmore's outdoor spaces in addition to New York City's Central park. There are trails throughout this land and much of the vegetation is labeled so it's an excellent place to learn new things about horticulture.

Yes! That's right. It is a big slippery rock! This is great fun during the warmer months. If you don't want your bathing suit to get pilled by the texture of the rock wear cutoffs :)

This is a little gem. You feel like you're in the middle of the forest at times even though you're on university land. This spot is one mile from my home and a stroll on the Reed Creek Greenway will take you right there. There's a river running through it and the huge rocks are perfect for meditating or reading for a while.

This spot is one mile from my home and a stroll on the Reed Creek Greenway will take you right there. There's a river running through it and the huge rocks are perfect for meditating or reading for a while.
The Greenway is a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of life. Since it is so close to my home, I walk/run here at least 5 days a week. It is peaceful and refreshing to walk by the little stream and there are a few sitting areas with benches that make it easy to relax a while.

This is my neighborhood! It's so close to downtown. We have three grocery stores within a few hundred yards of one another just down the street too. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood considering its proximity to the central business district, and there is a greenway within a block of my home that is a great spot for a walk or run. The greenway will also take you right to UNCA and their exceptional botanical garden.
