The walks are endless in the Brecon Beacons. These are the ones that are closest to Gilwern. For extra advice please drop by the tourist information centre in Crickhowell.
Many of the walks that take you up the famous Beacons start from this area. Please plan your walk carefully and take all the necessary equipment. weather in the mountains can change very quickly!

An excellent place to start a beautiful walk. Close to the famous Offas Dyke. There is a beautiful old ruined priory to look around and a pub for refreshments.

An excellent place to start a beautiful walk. Close to the famous Offas Dyke. There is a beautiful old ruined priory to look around and a pub for refreshments.
Close to Crickhowell, set below the amazing Llangattock escarpment. The escarpment is a beautiful place to walk and you can drive most of the way up. Plenty of well trodden paths. You could visit the village pub for a pint on the way down.

Blorenge is a beautiful place to walk. You can drive most of the way up and there is parking at Keepers Pond. The paths are all trodden so its easy to find your way to the top and touch the trigg point!
Keepers pond is a small lake by the car park. Often you will see people and dogs swimming.

In particular w would recommend Raglan farm for children. There are animals to feed, soft play, zip wires, indoor sand pit and more. Also suitable whatever the weather as much of it is indoors.
