The lagoon recently added a visitor's center with a neat display of local plant and animal life. Kids and adults will enjoy the exhibits, and the fantastic view as they walk or jog along the easy trails. There are lots of birds, and during high tide you can also spot other marine life.

The sandwiches from the deli are HUGE and breakfast burritos are also delicious. Seaside Market BBQ's outside daily and the resulting "Cardiff Crack" is known around San Diego county.

Pick up the Coaster at the Solana Beach or Encinitas train station to go up to Oceanside, or even to downtown. You can park a car there, or even walk there in about 40 minutes. (Both stations are roughly two miles away)
