There’s an amazing naive art museum here, the town is bustling with a beautiful historical centre with cobbled streets and lots of cafes and restaurants. My favourite brocante is in Laval, called Bruneau Brocante, this is well worth a visit.

This is a great small town, with plenty of cafes and restaurants plus the chateau and lake are well worth a visit.

Food scene
A lively local town with good amenities, restaurants, shops and markets. Try ‘cuisine de Bubba’ for delicious wood fired pizza

There are two restaurants here, one à crêperie, Called Le Petit Monde, and one called Restaurant La Forge
We have had good feedback on the second one.
The village is very pretty, in stunning surroundings by a lake.
It is also the home of Toiles de Mayenne, a historical textiles company that has an outlet shop on the outskirts of the village.
There is also a lovely épicerie that serves great coffee.
All in all well worth a visit!

Bistro de La Varenne is a local restaurant in the town that we have visited a few times. It has a delicious and varied menu and can cater for vegans if told when booking in advance.
