Walk up to the amazing Fort Lewis College campus via the Sky Steps or the Nature Trail, both of which are accessible at the nearby trailhead at 10th Street & 6th Avenue. Once on the mesa top, you can also walk the scenic Rim Trail north for miles.

Climb this ridge on the south side of town for stunning views of Durango, the Animas Valley, the Sierra La Plata, and the San Juan Mountains. Be aware of seasonal wildlife closings from December through spring.
