The setting is located overlooking a large pond, and the torch lit dining just sets the mood. The view and atmosphere is incredible; Sunday Brunch is amazing. Happy hour is 4pm to 6pm, some fantastic drinks! If you like Prime Rib, it is only $37 bucks, but they sell out quick. This dinner order is enough to share with someone it is huge.

Parks & Nature
It's a great place for a stroll, picnic, BBQ, family get together and camping. They have free catch and release fishing with bamboo poles on the weekends. A lovely place. Recommend going to the visitor center and hiking around the small lake. If you like camping it's nice. Real bathrooms and clean campsites. Beautiful photo opportunities at the base of the Ko'olau Mountains.

The view is fantastic and you can see the changing panorama of Honolulu depending on what time of day you arrive. This is a classic location for pictures.

Nutridge StreetThe drive up Tantalus Lookout is well worth the drive. The road is winding, steep, and narrow. On reaching the top, there is a small parking area and an amazing lookout. The view is fantastic and you can see the changing panorama of Honolulu depending on what time of day you arrive. This is a classic location for pictures.
A lush, oceanfront park with tree-shaded campsites, beach access & mountain views. I think this is the nicest most beautiful beach on the entire island. It is not as popular as the others either.

The Lanikai Pillboxes hike (a.k.a, Ka’iwa Ridge Trail) is well known for being one of the easiest hikes on the island and one of the most scenic. That’s a rare combination. You can complete the hike in an hour or less if you want to. But once you see the sweeping views of Kailua and Lanikai from the ridge, you may want to spend more time on the trail.
Come at dawn or dusk for the best views.

You can complete the hike in an hour or less if you want to. But once you see the sweeping views of Kailua and Lanikai from the ridge, you may want to spend more time on the trail.
Come at dawn or dusk for the best views.

Produce first: there are several vendors, but perhaps not as many as one would expect at a farmers market. However, I found the variety of produce nice, very fresh, and quite reasonable. There are probably more prepared food booths than there are produce vendors. Ba-Le is also there with a wide selection of baked goods. The Pig & the Lady, Greens & Vines and Guava Smoked are just a few names that come to mind. There are a few stand-up tables and an open area where you can bring your chairs/blankets and sit on the concrete to enjoy your food and the live music. It would be nice to have a grassy area, or seating, but if you know the area, it's just an asphalt parking lot.

With all due respect to Matsumoto's, *this* is the best shave ice on Oahu!. The ice was powdery and the condensed milk topping and ice cream complemented the shaved ice nicely. I love this place, right down the street from the house, and also one block from the beach. President Obama and his family eats here every time he is on the island.
