La Fortuna is the 7th district of San Carlos and is the main tourist destination in the northern area of Costa Rica. The town has approximately 15,000 inhabitants and located 883 meters above sea level. A walk to Arenal Volcano Park with Hot springs

It is an awesome opportunity to learn about the volcanic activity and the history of the area. Once on the observation point, you can enjoy the incredible landscapes of the volcano and Lake Arenal. I recommend SevenTours tour operator. They can pick you up if front of your Airbnb

Tips for your stay

Downtown: You can walk to downtown with no issues. The neighborhood is very safe, but try not to walk after 11pm (just in case). Getting around: If you do not have a car you can use the taxi or Uber service. Grocery store: Super Rosvil is located nearby, you can find a wide variety of products. Local food: You can find many "Sodas" where they offer delicious and very cheap dishes. Money Exchange: The best option is BAC Credomatic, located 500 meters east of the Catholic Church. Open Monday to Friday from 9AM-5PM, Saturday from 9AM-1PM
