A beautiful Swimming hole in Kerrville (30 minute drive) along the Guadalupe River. I have yet to go here but I will check it out the next hot day. This might be fun for kids on a hot day. Pair it with Flat Rock Park in Kerrville for a day of fun on the water.

The tiny towns of Albert and Lukenbach feature old German dance halls and a fun vibe. They are definitely worth visiting for all ages. The others are bars for adults although Crossroads Saloon serves a good steak and is family-oriented in their restaurant.

BICYCLING IS FANTASTIC! My husband is an avid cyclist and has been riding this area for years. He can help you plan an amazing bicycling experience in Fredericksburg! The country roads are often traffic-free and offer some of the best scenery and hill climbs around! Rental equipment is available at several local shops. I see new wineries popping up in the area literally every time I come out which is usually about every other week! It can be hard to keep up with but these are my top picks so far! My friends have enjoyed it as well and some of them are pretty selective so we hope you like them too! ** See below under Transportation and Tours for wine tours and a suggested Do It Yourself with a designated sober driver.

I like it so much - I am a member there and love taking bottles to my friends as gifts. Their tasting tables seat 6 people and reservations are required.

Reserve the wine cave tour and be whisked away to an underground bunker to taste some great wines. The guide we had was fantastic - a sommelier with a passion for his product. We joined this club because we like the wine so much and they have good member parties too! (Convenient to Signor which is across the street and Heath which is next door - all off 290, then call an Uber home!)

This little family-operated winery is unique and reflects the hill country vibe. The setting is lovely overlooking the hill country.

Transportation Services and Wine Tours
The area has many great transportation options to help you and your guests visit area wineries and attractions. Below are a few suggestions.
I am not able to list many of them due to the formatting of this guidebook. I suggest Texas Two Step Wine and Whiskey Tours, and The Black Sheep Wine Tours. Uber, and Lyft are also available in the area yet can be very busy, especially on weekends.
Here is a "Designated Sober Driver - Do It Yourself Tour" suggested itinerary:
Three of our favorite wine tastings happen to be right within the same area along 290. If you can recruit a designated driver, this would be an easy combination. The tastings are interesting enough for someone to sit through even if they are not drinking.
Start with Heath Sparkling followed by Slate Theory's wine cave tour which is right next door and then directly across the street to Signor Vineyards. All require reservations.
Remember - NEVER drink and drive!
