West 5 has been around forever, and is a real "locals" hangout. The food is just o.k., but their Mai tais are amazing, and only $5 from 4-6 PM. Be careful, they pack a punch ;-)

Lots of big screen TV's with various sports on here, but it's not a typical sports bar; the food is excellent, and the big patio out back is a great hangout on summer evenings. The best part? It's 5 blocks away! It's probably faster to walk up there than to drive & park.

Awesome place for a walk/jog or hang out. Truly one of Seattle's greatest Greenspaces! We have a nice walking route from the house through the park, that can end at either a pub or a coffeeshop right near the apartment.

Seattle's one and only sand beach. Can be a bit of a scene in the middle of summer, but still a lovely place to stroll along the water. The water will always be cold, but is very refreshing for a "polar bear plunge" if it's hot outside.

Lovely park on top of Capitol Hill. If you are "touristing" up on the Hill, it's a great getaway, with stunning views of the City, & beautiful gardens. SAM's Asian Art Museum in the middle is fabulous.

Getting Around
This is a really fun way to go downtown without a car! The WS Water taxi runs about every half hour, is something like $3 each way, and will drop you in the middle of the action. You get a great 15 minutes out on the water taking in great views.

It runs frequently between West Seattle and downtown, and makes very few stops. If you're staying in Seattle long, consider buying an "Orca" Card, which is valid on all of our different public transportation systems.

The Triple Door is a great venue, they have music, comedy, theatre, lots of different shows. You dine during the show, booths and tables face the stage, and the waitstaff silently serves you yummy food while you enjoy the show. Love this place!
